How can you tell if your baby is model material? Is it the amount of compliments you receive daily on how cute, adorable or beautiful they are? The answer is "No." The only way to find out if your baby can model is to send snapshots of them, in simple clothes, to agencies that represent babies. Along with the snapshot you'll need to send a card that includes: the baby's name, date-of-birth, weight, height, and eye color.
Most agencies that represent babies are looking for interesting kids-character kids. Big ears can be cute. So can big, expressive eyes, but what it all comes down to is the "it" factor. Agents look for babies that have an alertness and energy coming from their eyes. They want children who are animated and fill a room with light and joy.
There are many opportunities available in big markets like Los Angeles and New York for baby models, but a parent must keep in mind that there is lot of disappointment, time, energy and commitment involved. The most important thing is to do what is right for your baby, as every child is unique. Every parent thinks their baby is exceptional, but that doesn't mean that every baby is right for modeling.
