Plus-Size Modeling
Tall and skinny is the vision most people have of models. But there is a whole world of opportunity out there for people who are not a size 0-4.
Although requirements for plus size modeling vary more than they do for standard fashion modeling, one requirement stays constant is height. The average plus size model is 5'9". Also, weight is not as emphasized in this market as size is, but your body must be in proportion-your bust, waist and hips should be about 10 inches apart (i.e. 42-32-42). Size Requirements are usually: 12, 14, and 16.
It is important to keep in mind that all forms of modeling are dictated by the fashion industry, which is full of rejection and obstacles. You have to be realistic when pursuing a career as a model, no matter what market you are interested in.
